Mary and Frank Allen are from New York. They were vacationing in West Virginia when the War came and managed to survive by holing up in an abandoned farmhouse for three months, eating the crops the draft trucks missed. Frank looks ill, doesn't he? They had a battle with radiation sickness too but unlike most people who were exposed, Frank was able to fight it off. He'll be okay now that they're in Safe Haven and under John's tender care. The dog is Jo-jo. He was tied up in the yard of the farm.
